As a painter working in a number of mediums including large works on paper and canvas, the work I now create is my main task of focus.

My inspiration is drawn from a visit some time ago  to outback Australia  .The heightened color, vast expanses and patterned forms seen there, offer me the freedom not found in suburbia ,or for that part ,not found in country Victoria where I have lived prior to moving to Melbourne 10 years ago.

I came to realize ,I had discovered inspiration that could occupy me for a life time .

I have a background in art, diploma years art Prahran Institute, and teacher training ( technical) art Hawthorn Institute
Teaching art in secondary colleges to all levels and in particular working as specialist art teacher with year 12 students, at painting studies and art history for many years, and then more recently working with adults and introducing them to a range of mediums, pastel, watercolor etc, has been a joy and extremely rewarding.

During this time I have exhibited widely in both solo and group  shows and felt a sense of achieving a degree of success, however, I became aware because so much energy and enthusiasm was channelled into the fulfilment of others and their need to achieve, my own creative process, that of painting had been delayed, and that i must attend to such and  concentrate on my painting career

Moving back to Melbourne 10 years ago, enabled me to re focus and address this concern. It was a delight to be part of a new art community and avail myself of countless possibilities.

I have continued to maintain my association with the Mansfield region, conducting classes and working with small groups of  students and exhibiting there.
